FBI HQ file 65-38100 - covering period from July 1951 through December 1990.
William Albertson joined the Communist Party in 1929 while he attended the University of Pittsburgh. He subsequently was a Party official in New York City. He served as the Organizational Secretary of the New York District of the CPUSA until July 1964. [See NYC file 100-129629].
In early July 1964 Albertson loaned his car to a friend and fellow Communist. The FBI planted false documents in his car which made it appear that Albertson was providing information to a law enforcement agency. When the documents were found, Albertson was ousted from the Communist Party.
